Neeraj Chopra, the double Olympic medallist, has surprised a fan with an all-expenses-paid trip to the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic, scheduled for July 5th at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.The fan, Ranjith Kumar Ravichandran from Coimbatore, had posted on social media requesting Rs 2000 to attend the event.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!Responding on X (formerly Twitter), Neeraj offered Ranjith a VVIP experience along with accommodation at Radisson Hotels, an official partner of the NC Classic.The social media post quickly gained widespread attention, receiving numerous likes and shares from users across the country.This gesture aligns with the significance of the NC Classic, which marks India’s first World Athletics Category ‘A’ Javelin competition.The event will feature 12 top javelin throwers from around the world, including Paris Olympics silver medallist Anderson Peters and former World Champion Julius Yego.Recently, Chopra won the Golden Spike title at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event with a best throw of 85.29m, despite expressing disappointment in his performance. “I am not that happy with my performance today, but I am very happy with the trophy I won,” said Chopra, as quoted by PTI. “I used to watch this meeting a lot as a kid. I watched people like Jan Zelezny and Usain Bolt winning the Golden Spike and I dreamt of winning one as well. Now the dream has come true.”After a foul on his first attempt, he led the field with his third-round effort. Chopra, who grew up watching legends like Usain Bolt and Jan Zelezny at this meet, called winning the title a childhood dream come true. Though his later throws dipped, he appreciated the Czech crowd’s support. Fresh off a Diamond League win in Paris, the Olympic champion now looks ahead to the NC Classic in Bengaluru on July 5.
