The numbers for the Monday drawing were 5, 8, 9, 17, 41 for the white balls and 21 for the red Powerball jackpot. The expected price was $900 million which is a mega millions jackpot. The prise pool for the next Wednesday’s drawing will now be the seventh-largest in US history and the third-largest for Powerball. Ticket buyers can win $1 billion in monthly installments or a one-time lump sum of $516.8 million before taxes.

As per the lottery officials, three fortunate individuals secured a magnificent prize of $2 million each by successfully matching all five numbers along with the Power Play option. The winning tickets were purchased in Arkansas, Georgia, and Texas, respectively. Furthermore, five people won $1 million apiece by matching all five numbers. The tickets that emerged victorious were purchased in the states of Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, New York, and Pennsylvania, where luck smiled upon the fortunate winners.

The game’s winning chances, which stand at 1 in 292.2 million, are designed to encourage more players by giving enormous prizes. In November, the largest Powerball prise ever won was $2.04 billion. The most recent Powerball jackpot winner received nearly $253 million on April 19. Since then, there have been 38 consecutive draws with no grand prise winner.
